Many companies must regularly send their clients documents in the form of invoices, statements, etc. as part of their business. The preferred option is e-mailing, however, customers are then exposed to receiving a fake parcel with an attachment that is a carrier of malware. We do not want to dwell here on its types and the damage caused by them, but we must mention the potential side-effect of this increasingly troublesome scourge: damage suffered by customers may affect the reputation of the company, expose it to numerous claims for damages from their side and cause mass withdrawal of consents to provide them with various documents by e-mail. To protect against accusations of not exercising due diligence when sending customers e-mail documents, each company should provide them with a simple and reliable method of verifying the authenticity of consignments originating from it.
